The old scanners worked fine with a amplified speaker plugged in the headphone jack. The jack the on the sds100 is dummied down so low a amplified speaker don't help much.The SDS100 is silent. When I stop the SDS100 on the exact same frequency that the TRX-1 is decoding, programmed as a DMR freq., it doesn't even make a hit on the signal bar. I can't imagine the TRX-1 is that much more sensitive on DMR than the SDS100. Without the lock symbol printed next to the power button it could cause a lot of confusion when the keypad stopped responding after being locked. SDS100 on Site 64 RSSI -80dbm steady with 0 D-errors strength bars remain constant and "DATA" is displayed constantly while on hold as well as all the sysinfo I want dispalayed stays in view. SDS100 on Site 63 RSSI -90dbm fluctuates to -95, D-errors 20 ( would be an approximate average ) this fluctuates from 0 to as high as 90.. High speed chase on i 5 today

Download the file "SDS-100_V1_10_00.bin" and "SDS-100_SUB_V1._02_01.firm" and put those files on the SD card in the firmware folder. When you turn the scanner off and on it will update with the new firmware. 1- ISP Dist 5 and Dist 2. 2- Will County Police/Fire/EMS specifically shorewood, plainfield, channahon, minooka (Joliet is encrypted) 3- IDOT (Illinois plows) 4- Troy Township plows. I soldered wires to the three pins on the USB plug first and then soldered the 3 different sets of wires to the leads. Solder the bare wires together. The white wires are not used. The old scanners worked fine with a amplified speaker plugged in the headphone jack. The jack the on the sds100 is dummied down so low a amplified speaker don't help much. SDS100 on Site 63 RSSI -90dbm fluctuates to -95, D-errors 20 ( would be an approximate average ) this fluctuates from 0 to as high as 90. I believe it’s Uniden’s use of a radio case (for the SDS100) used in their marine line of portable radios that’s at issue here. The marine case is touted as being waterproof/resistant so Uniden kept the moisture resistant feature and advertised it as a plus for the SDS100. But the marine portables don’t use SDR.Far NW Valley.
